I went to the
International Day for the Elimination of Racism March that the Third Avenue Collective and Daniel Gallant put on yesterday. One of of the guest speakers, Lucky Power, spoke with emotion of his days with the UN in Sierra Leon and Yugoslavia. Race wars ending with everyone killed, children and all.
The Citizen newspaper ran an article on him and the event. Violet Bozoki spoke of racial profiling.
"My blood flows red just like yours, not brown or black." Another speaker talked about his encounters with homophobes, and racism within the RCMP was touched on as well.
So here are a few pictures taken with my crap old camera phone!
